I am a little late with this but Happy New Year to everyone! It’s still January. I pray the Lord will greatly bless you this year of 2022. We need it, right? After the last two years, most of us have some emotional fatigue.
I think we are ready to break out of the doldrums of the coronavirus. It has been a difficult period of time beginning in the first quarter of 2020 and spread over almost two years now. We all have either had it or had family members who suffered from it; some have died. We need to pray for deliverance and an end to this pandemic.
Update on our CareBoxes for our kids in Haiti: The boxes are in Haiti, through customs, and in our shipper’s warehouse in Port au Prince. They are awaiting an open window for safe travel to Leogane. It is sad, but the shipper told me the gangs give them an okay when they can transport the cargo. Please pray for a safe transportation window. We knew this was going to be a difficult year to ship and were aware it would take more time. I suppose if it were easy, everyone would do it! Thank you all for your patience and prayers. We are doing all we know to do and will keep you all informed.
Jennie and I visited with our affiliated Haitian church in Albertville (Eglise Porte Etroite) this past Sunday (Jan 2nd). I preached a New Year’s message from Philippians 3:12-14 (NKJV), “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me./ Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,/ I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
Here are a few points from the message: This is a great scripture that speaks about pursuing the purpose of God. We are not perfect people but we must strive to be Christlike in our lives. It is important for us to press forward against any opposition or resistance we encounter. Life and ministry is not easy; we become stronger as we push against the difficulties. Too many people get sidelined because of something in their past. We must not allow our past to rob us of our future in pursuing the purposes of God in our lives and ministry.
God has blessed us and entrusted us with an outreach to six countries. We have affiliated and partnered with our brethren in some of the difficult places on earth. Have ever wondered how the name Pathway came into being? From the beginning, the heart of this ministry was not to the easy places but to the hard and difficult places.
Since the beginning of our ministry in 1994, we have ministered among the poor, strangers, imprisoned, and the least of these. Our journey has carried us to low income housing areas, jails, slums, villages and cities here and abroad. Most of the places where we have ministered and currently support are in restricted and impoverished countries. Thank you for taking the journey with us, blessing others with the love of Jesus.
