Journey Update: February 2023

You may notice that I use the word “journey” quite often. I’m not sure when the term took root in my heart, but it describes how I understand my life with Jesus. I best describe my position with Jesus as a follower. He calls people to follow Him. When I first believed in Jesus as my Savior and Lord, it resulted in me following Him. The journey has been challenging at times, yet a wonderful journey not to be regretted.

Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me./ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matt. 16:24-25 NKJV).

Jesus did not beat around the bush about the cost of discipleship. I was just a little skinny country kid when I began my journey with Jesus. I am now a grandfather. This journey has put me in places and experiences I would never have dreamed as that little boy. Some of those times and places have been difficult and scary but He has never left me. Jesus never gave me a Superman cape to wear, but He handed me a servant’s towel and filled me with the Holy Spirit. I do not have a complicated game plan just a desire to be faithful to Him.

We pray for, support, and work with many Supermen (and women) around the world. They are simple folks whose royal robes of Christ flutter in the wind of the Spirit. I feel grateful that God has called me alongside them in this journey with Jesus. You are part of this journey as well. Your prayers, concern, encouragement, and support helps to fill the sails of our vessel. I call your names in prayer. You are much more to us than a name on a mailing label. When I utter your name in prayer, my heart is filled with gratitude and love. Thank you so much!

We have many challenges around the world. Everything seems to be very different than even a few years ago. Yet, God is the same and He does not change. His love, power, and grace is still the same. Please keep us and this ministry in your prayers as we seek to please Jesus.

Book Update (The Awakening): The line edit has been completed and I am presently going through the book one more time for a final edit. When the publisher receives my final edit, they will begin the cover design and the interior design (font, chapter headings, etc.). I am hoping for a book in hand sometime in March or April. I am excited but then the new frontier of marketing it will be another challenge. I need lots of prayer.

Bro. Butch Suddath and I have flight reservations for our mission trip to an eastern country in March. Please pray for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit as we minister in a country where only a small percentage of the population is Christian. It is literally on the other side of the earth, taking approximately 35 hours of travel time from my door to our destination.

Thanks again for your prayers and support. It is a great blessing and encouragement to us.

Rejoicing in the salvation which is by grace through faith, I am…

Yours on the Journey,

Harry L. Whitt
